Since the last newsletter from Boursot's Wine Collection I have been working on a Special Offer on Olivier Leflaive's Burgundies. Many of you showed great interest in the early announcement of this Offer as you had previously bought these wines at the more expensive prices of the UK.

Whilst the popular belief is that you save just £2 per bottle on all wines across the board when you buy here in France, in fact as wines become more expensive, the savings in France normally increase - due to UK duty, the retailer's margin on that duty as part of the overall cost, additional storage and distribution charges and of course agents' margins. Recently we had a wine which sold here at £10.50, a full £11 less per bottle than was being charged for exactly the same wine in London.

So if you have some special favourites from Olivier Leflaive, let us know and we should be able to get them in for you, subject to availability at source.

The prices on this Leflaive Opening Offer are a one-off and this Offer will close on Wednesday 10th October after which they will be listed at their normal higher price, although of course still with large savings over UK prices.

Having just returned from Leflaive's cellars in Puligny-Montrachet where I tasted a large cross-section of wines, I now feel confident to offer you a small cross-section of their great wines at some very special prices. I believe these wines offer you a good insight into Leflaive's style of winemaking. As always, you can pre-book your orders for collection at a later date.

Whilst talking of Burgundy, we have a few places remaining for our Gourmet Burgundy Dinner at the Hotel Atlantic in Wimereux on Saturday 13th October. This will be hosted by Paul Bouchard who was for around 35 years the head of Bouchard Ainé of Beaune as well as co-founder of Bouchard Finlayson in South Africa. This will be a part of our Anniversary Weekend during which there will be underground and overground tours of historic Ardres, a Wine Masterclass in Ardres and a Wine Tasting in our shop. If you should be interested in taking part, do please let us know as soon as possible, and currently there are hotel rooms available.

The menu for the Burgundy Dinner is shown below and as always if you should be allergic to one or other of the dishes, an alternative can be prepared for you. The price of €110 (around £75) is all inclusive of all Burgundy wines and six courses prepared by the talented Alain DELPIERRE at the Hotel Atlantic.
